TEN-SECOND COCKPIT SCAN

Instrument Scan Challenge BETA

After a GET READY and 3, 2, 1 countdown, study a classic single-engine trainer panel for ten seconds. When it disappears, identify every problem you remember.

50-SCENARIO RANDOMIZED BANK

Choose a free 5- or 10-question quiz.

Each question starts with a short flight context and countdown, then shows a full panel for exactly ten seconds. Some panels have more than one problem, and a problem may be revealed by a needle’s direction or speed rather than a red-line reading.

  • Scan both the primary flight instruments and the engine/system gauges.
  • After the panel vanishes, select every problem you noticed.
  • Your answers are scored together at the end of the free quiz.

Training note

This game uses original, generic SVG instruments inspired by layouts commonly found in classic single-engine trainers. Actual panels, markings, limitations, and procedures vary by aircraft. Use your aircraft’s POH, approved checklists, and qualified flight instruction for real operations.

Instrument concepts are based on the FAA Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge, Chapter 8 and the FAA Instrument Flying Handbook.
